Ever hear the phrase ‘new year new me’? Make it a reality, entering in to the new year by making yourself a priority this coming year. Believe that you can make a change for the better and stick to it. Prioritize yourself, specifically your physical and mental health. Your addiction is a hill, it is large and imposing, but not impossible. You just need to start climbing and not stop until you reach the top, then continue down the other side as you leave your addiction behind you. This new year your focus is improving yourself, and how might you do that? Here are a few ways to improve upon yourself in the new year.
Routine- Building a routine can improve various parts of your health. Establishing a time to focus on your physical health whether it be walking, running, lifting weights, etc. Getting your blood pumping will make you feel better. Doing the same for your mental health can be equally beneficial. Learn to meditate, read a book, or just take 30 minutes to relax. Creating those specific times throughout your week and setting your routine can help you find a balance.
Realize Your Worth- To prioritize yourself, you first need to realize your worth. Focus on your happiness, health, and treating yourself the way you deserve. Though it sounds selfish to put yourself before others, your focus should be on improving yourself and your potential.
Ask for Help (When Needed)- This one can be especially tough, but understand it is okay to need help every now and again. You can’t handle everything on your own and will cause internal stress by trying to shoulder everything yourself. Sometimes life puts too much on your plate or things seem impossible, simply ask for help.
