Emergency Department visits involving pharmaceuticals increased 98.4% between 2004 - 2009.
2009 - 23.5 million persons age 12+ need treatment for substance abuse problem; of these only 11.2% of those who needed treatment received it at a specialty facility.
A total of 21.3% of Quad Cities adults are binge drinkers.
Mission: The Alumni Association is committed to promoting awareness of substance use issues in our community and fostering positive wellness opportunities for those supportive of the recovery journey through programming, special events, social opportunities and financial gifts.
Involvement Opportunities
Alumni Board: The Alumni Board serves as the governing body of CADS Alumni Association. Members are designated staff from CADS and community advisors who are committed to ensuring the best interests of the association while enhancing relationships with alumni and community members.
Alumni Advisory Group: Alumni Advisory group develops and implements ideas and plans to support the mission. Check our News & Events page for meeting times and locations.
Alumni Circle: You can make a difference and instill hope in the lives of those negatively affected by substances. Gifts will be used where they are needed most. If you have a specific request where your support will be used, please provide details if we are able to accommodate this request.
Journey/Mentoring Program: The focus of the mentor program is to encourage the recovery principle of carrying the messages to others. Alumni Advisory connects people who have the common interest of engaging and sustaining one own's & other's recovery journey, whether one is just starting or further along.
Supporter: You can support the mission, whether you want to learn more, volunteer for a specific event, be part of social opportunities, or many other ways.
CADS offers a variety of substance abuse services focused on support, care, and treatment designed to meet the needs of families and individuals of all age groups in the community.
